Lionardo Di Caprio won the Oscar for the Best Actor

In 2016 the film which won the Oscar with highlight was "The Revenant", by the director Alejandro González Iñarritu.
Lionardo Di Caprio won the Oscar for the Best Actor.
This film won the categories for the best drama, best director and best actor.

The Revenant is based on the story of a man who is abandoned by his companions to die after being attacked by a bear in an expedition in adverse Indian territories.
The role of best supporting actor was awarded to Mark Rylance in the film Bridge of Spies.
When he won the Oscar, Leonard devoted special words to the English actors who most influenced him, especially Tom Courtenay, Gary Oldman, Peter O'Toole and Daniel Day Lewis.
This was LEONARDO DI CAPRIO'S HISTORIC OSCAR SPEECH

“I just want to say this: Making The Revenant was about man's relationship to the natural world.  A world that we collectively felt in 2015 as the hottest year in recorded history. Our production needed to move to the southern tip of this planet just to be able to find snow. Climate change is real, it is happening right now. It is the most urgent threat facing our entire species, and we need to work collectively together and stop procrastinating. We need to support leaders around the world who do not speak for the big polluters, but who speak for all of humanity, for the indigenous people of the world, for the billions and billions of underprivileged people out there who would be most affected by this. For our children’s children, and for those people out there whose voices have been drowned out by the politics of greed. I thank you all for this amazing award tonight. Let us not take this planet for granted. I do not take tonight for granted. Thank you so very much.

My Life has changed!

The day was almost here. My life was going to change from there on. Oh my god! I couldn’t belive it! I have never imagined anything like this. It´s amazing!
He has just arrived. His name is Patas (he has big paws)! He’s so beautiful! He is beige, and big. He´s a Labrador. Normally they are so cute and darling, but, my dog isn’t. I think that he is  crazier than me, but I love him so much!He has such a personality! I think that he thinks he is a person. My life has changed so much! I get home everyday, and there he is, wagging his tail from side to side with something in his mouth. And then, I go to my room and he follows me. I do my homework and he waits. After everything is done, he knows it, it´s time to his paws on! With a ball, dolls or anything he gets it. At dinner time, I always have warm feet. And at bedtime, it can be said than I am never cold. I´m never alone.

I don´t understand why there are people who still abandon pets. Because animals are not to blame. I would like everyone to love them just like me. Certainly, we would have a better world!

My Photography Course

I’ve always wanted to learn photography…

In July of last year I decided to take a photography course in IPF (Instituto Português de Fotografia).
The course took 4 days, 5 hours a day. There I learnt how to work with a camera: exposure time, framework, history of photography, first camera, drawing with light, among many other things.
I liked the course. I learned many things and I concluded one of my goals.

Saint David's Day - A National Festival in Wales The 1st of March

The Welsh Red Dragon Children with Daffodils.

People in Wales and those of Welsh origin celebrate the life of their patron saint, St David, and the Welsh culture on March the 1st each year. Many people pin a daffodil or leek to their clothes and some, especially children, wear traditional costumes. St David is the patron saint of Wales. March the 1st is a day of celebration of both. Many people attend special church services, parades, choral recitals or Welsh literature readings. Schools plan celebrations, often involving choirs, on the day.

My crush

My big crush is to do abseiling.

I love  abseiling  because when I`m on top of a mountain I feel really  good, I feel a stronger self-esteem. My favourite place to do abseiling  is  Sintra  because it´s a beautiful place. It has beautiful sceneries. When a I’m  abseiling in Sintra I feel that it's just me and  nature.
I had a good teacher! I started  abseiling  because my dad gave me this love for nature and sports.
But don’t think it’s easy!  We have to train a lot and hove to have a good level of fitness, because abseiling is hard work. Abseiling is available to anyone. You just have to be sensible and to train for it.
For those who don't know, abseiling is to go down a vey steep slope by holding on to a rope that is fastened to the top of the slope.

A weekend in Óbidos

I spend most weekends in Gaeiras, a small hamlet near Óbidos.
Usually I leave Lisbon on Friday evening after school and my grandfather drives us to his home. There, I feel free as I can ride the bike, followed by my dog.

On Saturday morning I go to the swimming pool. In the afternoon I practise horse riding.

Last weekend I had neither swimming nor horse riding as we went to Montejunto to plant a few trees.

There are many activities in Óbidos according to the time of the year such as:

The chocolate festival celebrated from: 31st March - 25th April

The Medieval Festival celebrated from: 31st July- 1st August, 2016

The Christmas Fair celebrated from: 4th December – 3rd January

I love all these festivals but above all the chocolate fair.
On Sunday I travel by bus back home, here in Lisbon.

The theatre play - Auto da Barca do Inferno

On February 23rd, our class went to the theater to see the theatre play "Auto da Barca do Inferno", by the portuguese medieval author Gil Vicente. Gil Vicente was considered the father of the portuguese theatre.

This activity was related with the portuguese subject. It was organiseed by our teacher of portuguese language. We went there  by bus and before we stopped to have lunch. Then we went to the theater and saw the play. We loved it, because it is a kind of comedy. Gil Vicente was brilliant concerning satire. He worked this literary gender very well.
